వారణాసి నాగలక్ష్మి

Nagalakshmi Varanasi is a Telugu poet, short-story writer, lyricist, translator, and painter–illustrator whose work over more than two decades has established a distinct, restrained voice in contemporary Telugu literature.Her honors include the Ugadi Puraskaram from the Government of Andhra Pradesh (2025); the Dr. Bhanumati Ramakrishna Vamsi Lekhini National Award for Literature (2024); the Sheela Veerraju-Vamsi Kamadhenu Award as Kavi Chitrakarini (2024); Amruthalata ‘Apuroopa’ Puraskaram (2017); Visalakshi Sahitee Puraskaram (2017); ‘She’ Puraskaram for Poetry (2013); Uttama Katha Rachayitri Award from Lekhini (2011); Sri MVL Sahitya Satkaram (2009); and the Abburi Rukminamma Award (2005). She has also been honored by the Delhi Telugu Academy and has participated multiple times in the Hyderabad Literary Festival as both panelist and poet. She holds an M.Phil. and M.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Hyderabad, securing university first rank in both degrees.
